Time for a change!

Coat - Jigsaw // Jumper - Primark // Necklace - H&M // Jeans (Joni) Topshop // Trainers (Tavas) Nike

This past month I have been running myself ragged with so many errands and to do lists.... I literally haven't stopped once!  Perry and I are currently in the process of exchanging contracts on a property that we have put an offer on and so together we have been attending important meetings and we are both completely worn out!  Therefore my usual choice of footwear (high heels/high heeled ankle boots... Basically anything that will make me at least 4 inches taller) has quickly changed into flats and most importantly trainers!

As you already know, I recently purchased a pair of black coloured Nike trainers in the 'Tavas' style and have not put them down since!   They have instantly become my 'go to' shoes and because of this, I really wanted to incorporate them into an outfit that is smart casual and great for when you just want total comfort!

So I teamed them with a simple pair of black skinny jeans... I like to wear high waisted jeans, because I find them more comfortable and so these are from Topshop and they are the 'Joni' style.  I then chose my flecked grey jumper from Primark and paired it with my grey cocoon coat from Jigsaw. This coat is one of my favourites as it is over sized and stylish.  Every time I want to look effortlessly smart... I wear this coat!  And lastly for a little bit of glamour... I added my crystal pendant necklace from H&M, which I think ties the whole ensemble together!

So here is my take on a smart casual outfit with my new trainers as the main focal point.  I can't wait to continue wearing this outfit... I hope you are all having a great week and I will catch up with you next time!

Tavas are top!

After so many years of wanting to own a pair of Nike trainers for casual wear.... I finally bit the billet and did it!  That's right I now am the proud owner of these gorgeous babies!  I have been lusting after so many designs over the last few years and I really couldn't decide on just one!  Also, with so many things happening in my life, especially within the last two years... I just never got round to getting them!  But I am sooooo thrilled that I did!

I popped into my nearest JD Sports to wear I work, because I wanted to try on lots of styles in my lunch break.  Honestly there were so many trainers it really was shoe heaven... I didn't know where to look first!

I finally came to a conclusion in the stunning and super comfortable Nike Tavas (in black of course!)  Because of my short stature (a measly 5ft and 1 inches) I get the pleasure of fitting a junior size of 4.5 which means that the price is almost cut in half... (There finally is a positive note for being a shorty!)

These trainers have to be my most comfortable ones yet!  They are light as a feather which is ideal for me, because they make each step bouncy and relaxing for my feet!  I am thoroughly impressed with them and I just know that this company is going to be my new go to for comfy, stylish and affordable footwear!  I am so glad that I made this purchase and I look forward to wearing them out as well as wearing them on my morning commute!

I am so over the moon with these cuties... I literally have not stopped wearing them!  They are the perfect everyday trainer that can take you from casual to smart casual!  I can't wait to start outfit building with these!  So stay tuned!

Dungarees all day!

Dungarees - Dorothy Perkins // Jumper - Primark // Necklace - New Look // Boots - New Look

Dungarees.... Now there's a word I never thought that I would mention and yet here I am dedicating an entire blog post to it!  Ever since I was a very young infant, my Mother would dress me in classic denim dungarees as I was always playing in the garden and I guess she was tired of me spoiling all of my dresses on the grass.  Sometimes Mum would even allow me the wonderful pleasure of wearing the plum coloured corduroy one... Lucky me eh?

So you can kind of understand as to why I had never steered towards them when I go shopping!  That is until I popped into my nearest Dorothy Perkins store...  I saw this super cute grey pinafore style dungaree dress and instantly wanted to try it on!  I'm a very true pear shape, (where my waist is tiny and then my hips and bottom go out), so I was a little sceptical with trying this on.  I had a feeling that it was going to be fine on the top and then really tight and clingy on my thighs.  However all of my doubts were washed away the moment I looked in the mirror!  Who'd have thought that I could pull off dungarees?  I was so happy they fitted me and next was the challenge of styling them up.

On Instagram and Pinterest, all I kept seeing was wearing them for shirts and fitted jumpers so I wanted to try and replicate that for my dungarees.  I decided on teaming my flecked fitted jumper from Primark, because it gave a good contrast to the outfit as well as giving me more shape as it accentuated my small waist and petite frame.  I then opted for my favourite flat ankle boots from New Look just to keep the outfit looking smart as well as playful!

I literally cannot tell you how comfortable this outfit is!  It's so trendy and I have already received so many compliments from my friends and family!  Who'd have thought it?

I'm thoroughly impressed with the quality and design of this dress.  It has so many pockets on it and a dress with pockets is a real dream!  It even has a pocket at the front acting like a pouch, which I have been using to store my sunglasses and lipstick when I'm on the go!  How practical is that?  So yeah I've been totally swayed by dungarees and it's fair to say that in my wardrobe... They're here to stay!

Three ways to wear a Leather Jacket!

One of the most essential items of clothing that I think everyone should have in their wardrobes is the legendary 'Leather Jacket'!  Why you might ask?  Well for the plain and simple reason of it not only being chic and trendy. but also the fact that it is incredibly versatile and manages to compliment any outfit you create every single time, without fail!  I asked for a new leather jacket for my Birthday, as my last one (which had been in my wardrobe for 7 years) finally was needing an update!  I opted for the 'Petite Quilted Faux-Leather Biker Jacket' from Topshop, which was a reasonable price of £48.  I really liked this style, because it was collarless, but yet still had the lapels at the front of it, which I adore and always go for when choosing a leather jacket.  I just couldn't wait to wear this item and I wanted to share with you all, my top three favourite ways to wear a leather Jacket.

Jacket - Topshop // Dress - Primark // Bag - Zara // Boots - New Look

1.  Here I wanted to focus the eyes onto the gorgeous monochrome dress that I picked up from Primark.  I synched in my waist by using an elasticated belt and then I wanted to match that accessory by teaming it up with my new black Zara chain bag.  I feel that the moment you add the leather jacket to the dress, it instantly gives it more character and the outfit goes from plain to eye catching!  This outift is not just stylish, but is also incredibly comfortable to wear too and for me, when I wear my clothes... comfort has to be the main priority!

Jacket - Topshop // Jumper - New Look // Skirt - Primark // Bag - H&M // Boots - New Look

2.  This outfit has been one of my favourite ones to wear, as it combines my two current loved at the moment, which are striped jumpers and denim buttoned mini skirts.  Over the past couple of months, I have become obsessed with stripes and I think that I must have around 9 tops/jumpers in my wardrobe already and yet I'm still adding to the collection!  This outfit looks so fashion forward and effortless as it consists of mixing different fabrics together that are all the shade of black and then contrasting it with the crisp white patterned jumper.  It breaks up the outfit and makes it more striking!

Jacket - Topshop // Shirt - H&M // Jeans - Topshop (Joni) // Biker Wellie Boots - Jigsaw

3.  This outfit just screams rock chic doesn't it?  I like to sometimes wear more edgy looks, especially mixing textures of materials and prints, so this style for me is super cool and really easy to copy.
Here I wanted to show off the Leather Jacket, in terms of the zip detailing, by matching it with my Biker Wellie Boots from Jigsaw.  To give the look a bit of colour and contrast, I styled my leopard print shirt underneath my jacket and it simply softened the outfit and made it less androgynous and more feminine.

I hope that these looks have given you some inspiration for your wardrobes and that you too are enjoying wearing your leather jackets!

Camel and Black!

Coat - Jigsaw // Shirt - Zara // Jeans - Topshop (Joni) // Handbag - A La Maison // Shoes - Primark

This week has been incredibly stressful, what with Perry and I desperately trying to find a property to buy, as well as sorting out various preparations for the wedding (which is just three months away)!  So with that said, I've been wearing more sophisticated outfits and looking a little more grown up (especially as I have a baby face and do not always get taken seriously)!

I love this ensemble!  Camel and black are my two 'go to' colours for style and elegance!  I wanted to feel comfortable, so I opted for my classic 'Joni' jeans from Topshop and my trusty snake print shirt from Zara.  This 'Cocoon Coat' from Jigsaw is ideal for giving a chic finish to any outfit!  Lastly, I donned my favourite stilettos from Primark, which have rose gold detailing on the heels.  This look screams out smart casual and I just love how effortless it seems, thanks to the over-sized coat.  All I want now is for something exciting to come out of it all... I guess now all we can do is play the waiting game!

Catch up with you all soon!

Topshop Trio!

Lately, I have been so impressed by Topshop's jewellery collection for this season.  There have been some amazing styles and colours and I wanted to show you my top three pieces that I purchased last week.

The first thing that caught my eye was this gorgeous long silver necklace.  I love how thin and elegant the chain is, because it makes the overall design less heavy and instantly gives off an impression that it is more expensive.

But for me, the thing that did it, was the fringing!  It is such a simplistic design but one that dresses up the most simple of tops/jumpers.  I can't wait to create lots of styles with this!

The next department that I delved into was all about earring!  Ever since I got my ears pierced (which was about 4 years ago now), I have been obsessed with earrings, whether they are studs, cuffs, hoops or dangle.  I needed a pair of studs that were a little bit more dressy than my usual plain ones, and could be worn from day to night (as I go to a lot of meetups etc).  These green/cream/gold ones were ideal and I just had to buy them!

The three colours blend so perfectly with one another and I find the shape to be so contemporary and one of a kind.  It is shaped as an irregular hexagon due to its six sides, but I really like how when you wear them, the side nearest to your ear is a straight side and the opposite side is at a point.  It creates a modern look and I find that these work so well with casual jumpers, as well as a smart dress or trouser suit.

The last thing that I utterly failed to resist, was another pair of earrings (surprise, surprise) and they are bohemian 1970's inspired with such personality to them.  I can just imagine wearing these with a high neck polo jumper and velvet pinafore mini dress or with a fitted jumper and flared jeans.  They are so psychedelic and simply ooze coolness.

The prominent tortoiseshell pattern was the pinnacle that drew me to the earrings in the first place. It was that, together with my love for bohemian fashion and style, that persuaded me to buy another pair of dangle earrings (I seriously have far too many to count!)  I like how these earrings have pale gold going through them, because it isn't too bold and therefore it easily can be teamed up with any of my autumnal colours such as khaki, camel, burgundy etc.  They are so easy to wear and they weigh absolutely nothing, which is even better for you and your ears!

I absolutely adore my three new pieces of jewellery from Topshop and I can't wait to start wearing them.  They are each so unique and I just know that they will effortlessly complete any outfit!

What I got for Christmas!

Christmas is officially over *sad face* and although I would still love to be able to wear my pjs all day, gorge on Christmas dinner and appreciate an endless supply of chocolate, it is time to move on.  I did however have an amazing Christmas and got utterly spoilt.  I couldn't take pictures of all of my gifts, but I have included a few, to give you an insight into what I received.  You never know, it may give you inspiration on what to buy for next Christmas!

Firstly, I received a copper t-shirt that read the most amazing quote ever and one that I live by: "I just want to shop, sleep, eat and be happy".  It is a dark charcoal colour with rose gold metallic colour splashed across it.  Also, to go along with the rose gold colour scheme, I was given a large PJ bag which is ideal for when I go travelling and stay over etc.  Also along with the bag, I got a couple of new sets of underwear, which always comes in handy!

Because I have such a passion for copper and all things rose gold, my parents got me some rose gold jewellery too.  I received a small bracelet with arrows on each side, a short necklace with small rose gold beads and a bigger necklace with large beads making it more of a statement piece.

They also bought me a new hair dryer from Remington which uses a silk ceramic grille and produces 90% more ions that creates a frizz free shine.  I was so happy to receive it, because I had been constantly borrowing my sisters hair dryer and therefore didn't have my very own one.  Along with that I was given a new set of pyjamas, which had the cutest bunnies on them!

Because Perry and I are due to move out sometime next year, they bought me copper coloured hangers for our new wardrobe.  I absolutely love them and I can't wait to start using them!  Copper is such a gorgeous colour because somehow it always manages to make things look smart and chic!  I finally was given an ultra feminine pale pink shirt from Warehouse.  It is a long sleeved blouse with lace detailing on the arms and back of the shirt.  It gives off a type of Victorian vibe and I am definitely going to team this up with my pencil skirts and skinny jeans.

From my sister I received so many exquisite gifts, all of which are perfect for me, especially with regards to my blog and blogging in general.  The first gift she gave me was this stunning notebook from Lulu Guinness (a designer who I have always admired) and it is ideal for jotting down thoughts and inspiration for my blogs.  Inside it has the traditional monochrome pattern and on each page it is adorned with the iconic lips image, which is so clever!  I have always dreamt of getting accessories from Lulu Guinness and so I was over the moon when I opened this.  Also, the packaging was stunning and the bag came with a Christmas bauble in the shape of red lips for hanging on the tree.... Genius!

I also received a print with the word "blogger" spelt out in vintage playing cards.  I really like how quirky this is and I can't wait to hang it up on my wall.  For the time being I have simply propped it up on my shelf.

Lastly I received a Fujifilm instant mini camera that prints out Polaroid snaps straight away as well as a mug by Roger Hargreaves (who is responsible for the "Mr Men" and "Little Miss" collection of books and memorabilia).  The mug read "Little Miss Blogger" and it had a little girl talking on the phone whilst blogging on her laptop.  It is the perfect mug for me as I am always on the go just like the character!

Finally, Christmas wouldn't be complete without some good old books to read in the new year.  I received four books ranging from:
'Sharp objects' by Gillian Flynn, 'All I know now' by Carrier Fletcher, 'Girl online on tour' by Zoe Sugg and 'Spectacles' by Sue Parker.

I had such an amazing Christmas this year with all of my family, I just wish that it had lasted longer... It always seems to fly by!

But tell me, what did you get for Christmas this year?

My new Luxury Winter Coat!

Jigsaw, one of my favourite brands has always been in my eyes one of the best stores for buying coats.  They always seem to get it right every season and their coats last for more than ten years!  They really are such great quality!

The other day I made a naughty splurge on a coat from Jigsaw,  (even though I am supposed to be buying Christmas presents and yes I have left it that late)!

I went for the 'Soft Cocoon Coat' and to be honest I had been eyeing it up for three months!  It is a little high in price as it is £298, but it is definitely an investment piece, because I will wear it all throughout winter and then for many years to come!

The composition of the coat is made from wool and mohair, meaning that it is incredibly warm... Perfect for the wintery nights!  Also, because of the wool and mohair, the coat has a really nice weight to it and you just know that it is such great quality!

The cocoon shape, helps to make the coat very modern and contemporary as instead of being tight and restricted, it is loose and flowing!  I love the wide lapels on the front... V neck coats are always so versatile as you can simply wear anything underneath them!  This style of coat makes any outfit look so effortless, and that is why I wanted it!  You can simply drape this piece over your casual or evening wardrobe for the perfect finishing touch!

I'm so thrilled with my new coat and already I have worn it twice.  Many people have even stopped me in the street, because it is so unique and striking.  It's not your usual coat that you see everywhere.  It's different, it's quirky and is definitely one of a kind!

A New Balance all the way!

For such a long time now, I have been on the lookout for the perfect trainers for comfort and style.  Although I adore my endless supply of vans and converse shoes... They don't offer me enough support, for when my feet have given up after a long ten hour shift!

I have seen so many people walking around in 'New Balance' trainers... Either wearing brightly coloured ones or ones of a more muted tone!  They look so stylish and comfortable that I really wanted to try them on for myself to see if they would make the cut!

I went into JD Sports and tried on what I thought was an adults size 4.  It turns out that I had accidentally tried on a junior size 4.5, which just so happened to fit me like a glove!  I couldn't believe that I was able to get away with wearing a children's size!  The best part of it was that instead of them being £60 they were £31!  I literally jumped at the chance to have them!  (Who wouldn't want trainers at half price)?

Since buying them, I have worn them religiously for travelling to and from work... They have literally cured my aching feet!  I wear a lot of high heels for my job and so to have the comfort of a decent pair of trainers is such bliss!  The fact that they are black, white and grey also makes them very smart as they simply smarten up any outfit!

Go and check out their range in your nearest store!

Enchanted Earrings!

I think it's safe to say that I have a serious addiction to earrings and most importantly buying them!  Ever since I got my ears pierced three years ago.... I haven't been able to walk past a pair of earrings without purchasing them!  I definitely have a problem and a stylish one at that!

H&M has fast become my favourite 'go to' for jewellery and over the seasons I have spotted some amazing finds!  This month, there has been lots of sparkle, crystals and pearls... All which are ideal for Christmas parties and festive gatherings!  I very naughtily purchased five pairs of earrings, which I know will keep me going right through to the new year!

1. Pearl and black - These really are the most 'Chanel' inspired earrings.  They are incredibly cute and I love how simplistic the design is.  When they are worn, the pearl sits behind the ear and dangles down... It gives great dimension and makes the earrings a little more sophisticated!

2. Crystal claws -  I originally bought these with Halloween being my main priority, especially with the fact that they are shaped into a claw.  However, I have worn them daily ever since and I love overall design.  The crystals give the earrings a feel of elegance rather than fright and I love how light they are when worn!

3. Pearl -  Again I purchased another pair of earrings which had a curtain design to them.  (At the back of the earring the small pearls hang lower than the main stud so it adds texture to the look).  I love these studs, because they are ideal for both day and nighttime due to how versatile pearls are.  I can't wait to start wearing these!

4. Marble and gold - These are by far my favourite of the lot!  I think that it is the combination of marble stone with the gold fringing that just makes them so appealing!  They are incredibly versatile in colour and the triangular shape makes the earrings really stand out!  It's always so nice to have earrings with a bit of texture!

5. Black and nude drops -  I purchased these because they came in a pack of two... What could be better?  I love the simplicity of these earrings and the design screams evening wear to me!  I will definitely be teaming these with my sequinned dresses and formal wear for nights out and other various gatherings!  I am always a sucker for sequins and sparkle and these earrings really sparkle!

I'm so glad that I chose all of these earrings, because they each bring some form of character to any outfit and they are so versatile!
